Summary
After enduring years of torture at the vengeful hands of his former disciple, Shen Qingqiu, the once-proud lord of Cang Qiong Shan’s second peak, has been reduced to nothing more than a lifeless husk. Nico lay still. Thanatos was pressed against his back, an arm around his waist. The breathing was slow and even. He could smell ash and old stone. He turned his head slightly. It was Thanatos. He was asleep or nearly there.
Nico tried to relax. Then something changed. He was floating. Above the cot. He looked down and saw himself lying there, Thanatos's arm still around him. Black smoke was coming out of his body—from his eyes, his nose, his ears, his mouth. It poured out like water. Small black spots appeared on his head, weeping the same dark substance.
"Sleep is just practice for Death," Thanatos said. He was laughing. The sound echoed.

After getting kidnapped and nursed back to health by a human, Mobei-jun has come to the unfortunate conclusion he has been conned into a marriage. In the human's defense, he did repeatedly ask for his consent or what Mobei-jun is willing to presume was a request for consent. Oddly courteous behavior for a bridenapping.
"A beverage was shared, along with hair combing prior? This mentor is loathe to confirm, but it does sound as if that human is now your wife."
"Wife." Mobei-jun presumed the human preferred him to be the wife from the near constant feminine pronouns he kept using in reference to this prince. "Not husband."
The old man shook his head. "Humans prefer their wives to be servile and submissive. They are a peculiar sort."
