Furina had always been easy to isolate since she was a kid.
She was quiet in a way that made people found her boring, small in presence even after she had grown older and manage to make few friends. Still being timid made her vulnerable. It also made her desirable to the wrong kind of attention.
That made it easy for Arlecchino and with her friends quiet encouragement, Arlecchino rebuilt the cage patiently. No one announced it outright. No one said Furina must be left alone. It was implied. Conversations died when she approached. Invitations stopped arriving. People looked at her with unease, then looked away.

Summary
Sitting atop the Palais mermonia the former archon contemplates her life for the last few months and stares out over the edge with her hand holding her vision in the air above the perilous drop below.
Should she let it go or keep it close to her heart. Should she follow after it or does she let it go by itself? Or should she live the life she now has as a frail and vulnerable human and try to find happiness despite all her suffering.
But she doesn't get the chance to choose because an uninvited voice calls out her name and it startles her causing her to lose her grip on her vision. Unfortunately she makes the mistake of trying to grab it before it falls and she slips.
As she falls through the air she closes her eyes as she regrets her mistake before landing.
But she isn't the one that hits the ground.
After being saved by the knave furina ends up taking care of her in her home, but one thing she didn't know was that the knave has been suppressing her rut for years by abusing suppressants. But the knave hasn't taken them in days and her rut is starting around the former archon who is starting her first heat.
