Plenty of people don’t seem to get it, and that’s fine. All they see is what Oscar manages to show the world, barely anything cracking through unless he can’t help it. They think he’s calm, collected, doesn’t have to deal with these pesky emotions on a regular basis.
But those who know him better can tell with one glance how he’s feeling, just by looking at his hair.

He doesn't hear the other man's response, too focused on Julien's flushed face and the way his lips are parted as he pants and groans when his lover grabs a handful of curls and pulls his head back. Moss green meets acidic green as Julien's gaze lands on him.

It turns out that Kattigan isn’t sleeping. His lips move against the soft patch of thin fur on Teor’s neck, right under his ear. “Wulfric’s got the watch, if you need a bit of comfort.” He trails a hand suggestively up the tender flesh of Teor’s flank.
Temptation washes through Teor– he can see in his mind’s eye Kattigan’s muscles rippling, vital and alive, under the moonlight– and it’s followed by a wave of shame. “It would be irresponsible.” He isn’t the one who should need comfort, anyway. He barely got hurt.
Teor does not like it when Kattigan gets hurt. He handles his feelings as best he can. It's not a total disaster.

Thaisha’s eyebrows wing up. This is news to her, mostly because it’s a lie. They fuck, that’s all. But Kattigan needs to have Teor’s back, and he doesn’t know how else to say it so that this refined orcish lady will understand.
Teor protects Kattigan from a trap Kattigan set off and gets poisoned in the process. Kattigan doesn't make ridiculous noble sacrifices like that. He just takes care of his friends, best he can.
