Neuvillette wishes he could offer an excuse deserving of her forgiveness. But he has none. He’d done what he needed in order to undermine the prophecy, and now that Fontaine was no longer in danger, finds himself regretting the fallout of his decision.
“I was merely making my way back to the Palais,” he answers, feigning ignorance.
A long bout of silence stretches between them, and all Neuvillette can do is watch as Furina’s eyes slowly begin to unfocus once more. The fight drains out of her the longer he hovers in her presence, and her posture slumps like a puppet with its strings cut loose.
Neuvillette tries to ignore how the sight tears violently at his heart.

"If you gave something to Azula since you think she hates you, what would she have done with it?" Aang asked, carefully picking his words. That caused Zuko's attention to shift from his search to Aang. "Burn it, probably. Why?" He was staring at him with a puzzled expression.
