Ah.
Laying on the desk, tattered and torn, was the white teddy bear that Hishiama knew Brian adored. It was freshly damaged, the right arm nearly completely ripped off and one of its button eyes dangling by a single thread.
She'd been in Brian's dorm quite a few times, usually to force her to get rest and take care of her when she got sick and refused to get help, and it took until her third visit for Brian to stop hiding the stuffed animal the second she entered the room.
They hadn't talked about it, but Hishiama could tell by how well-worn and clearly loved it was that it meant a lot to her friend. Mind made up, she stepped forward and, slowly, reached out a hand to inspect the damage. A somewhat panicked look crossed Brian's face briefly, but it just as quickly returned to being impassive. Hishiama caught it, however, and patted the teddy bear on the head gently before turning around and heading back to the door.
“Stay awake for me for a lil' bit longer, okay? I'll be back soon.”

“Who…” Dumbfounded, Castorice finds herself asking the stranger a question. “W-Who are you?"
It's a stupid question—which Castorice realises upon uttering the sentence.
The stranger seems to agree, given that they roll their eyes at the journalist. “Who else could have told you to meet here?”
Castorice remains silent, eyeing them. They're still covered by their black cloak, and hiding behind an accompanying mask.
“Hey! Earth to Journalist Homebody…!” Thief Star suddenly exclaims, waving their hands in front of Castorice’s face. “If you don't start driving right now, we're both going to get arrested!”

Castorice just wants to write her articles in peace. Unfortunately for her, she somehow gains the attention of local criminal, Thief Star. Things escalate from there.
