“So, which one of those lovely girls is your girlfriend?” Yoongi asked. His tone was naturally sarcastic but he was also looking at Taehyung with amused suspicion.
Taehyung chuckled. “None of them,” he said through a sigh. He smiled, trying to conceal his nervousness. This was Min Yoongi, his childhood friend. Why was he so nervous all of a sudden?
Yoongi smiled back at him. “Any of the boys then?” he asked, jokingly, maintaining eye contact.
Taehyung held his gaze as the question filled the space between them.
Yoongi had started dating a guy in his second year of college. He had officially come out and he was unapologetic about it. Taehyung liked this about him; his confidence, the fact that he could joke about it casually. What he didn't like was that Yoongi never shared that personal information with him—he never told him he was gay. Not even a hint or suggestion, in all those years in which they were almost inseparable, when they used to tell each other everything.
“No. None of the boys,” Taehyung said.

“I’m saying, let’s travel together,” Nothing made sense to Yoongi, “You always wanted to see the Italian countryside, always dreamed about the sea of the Apulian coast, let’s do it,” Taehyung whispered, his smile was shining and Yoongi was blinded by it. There was no chance to say no, even if it would’ve hurt more.
“You have something to do in a week,” Yoongi took his own words like daggers in his poor heart and Taehyung flinched like he was mad at him for remembering such an obscene thing during a tender moment. Taehyung was going to be married in seven days. Nothing could’ve changed that.
“Let’s travel for the next seven days,” Taehyung explained, brushing his lips over Yoongi’s closed eyes, sighing painfully, “Let’s pretend for the last time.”
or taehyung is engaged and this is his last week with yoongi before the wedding (they travel to italy, fuck in an old castle and break each other's hearts.)
