Summary
Both hands flew instinctively to his face, clamping over his mouth and nose in a desperate motion. His throat burned violently as the sensation tore up his larynx, triggering a nearly uncontrollable coughing reflex. He wanted to cough, to vomit, to tear out his own lungs just to rid himself of that feeling.
His feet began to thrash as the pressure in his lungs reached a point he could no longer endure. His hands clamped desperately over his mouth, in one last stubborn effort to keep himself from swallowing more water.
He closed his eyes. Tears gathered at the corners of them, indistinguishable from the water surrounding him.
He couldn't do this anymore. He needed air. He needed to breathe.
His entire body convulsed in violent, involuntary spasms. Pain had consumed everything—his throat, his chest, his lungs, every muscle in his body.
It hurt so much.OR: What was supposed to be the last submarine trip before Wifies finished his video becomes an endless cycle when he finds himself stuck in that moment, endlessly repeating the same day over and over again.

Summary
People are disappearing from Hollow Tide, and no one can explain it. Convinced something in the water is to blame, the town settles on two solutions: kill someone as a sacrifice, or hand over a bride instead.
