Where food was in excess and clothes were tailored to your form.
Everyone that made it this far believed they were ‘the one’—the one to finally defeat the Champion, the one to make it into the Inner City. The one to make it out alive.
They never did.
You’d been the Champion for as long as you could remember. You had yet to lose a single fight.

…and Q lounged on the couch, making a show of examining his nails and lying in wait.
“Ensign!” he jovially exclaimed, sitting up as soon as he spotted you. “Come in, come in. Jean-Luc and I were just having a delightful discussion about upright hominids and amphibians…”
He paused, and in a voice laced with equal parts velvet and malice, slyly finished:
“…And you.”
Goddamn it, why couldn’t it have been tribbles?
