As all the eyes in the classroom turned to him, Wei Wuxian wished that he could fade away. That he could escape the lecture hall, and the laughing eyes of his classmates. He wished that he had a different name, any name, other than the one his mother had given him. Why, why had she named him after the Yiling Laozu?
Most of all, though, Wei Wuxian wished that he had never met the man with the bright smile who was on one knee, clutching his hand.
"Wei Wuxian!" Lan Wangji cried dramatically. "Zhangfu! Come back to Gusu!"-----
The fic where Wangxian's mothers name their sons after their favorite characters from the pop culture phenomenon Mo Dao Zu Shi...only they get the names a little wrong.

Summary
[ “Hmph! Yet again you interrupt a lesson with wild theories. You are nothing but a disruptive influence, and don’t know the value of an education.”
As if to emphasise his point, he smacked his hand against the painting. He must have infused his hand with qi, as there was a flash when he tapped the paper, and the totally-not-talismanic-symbols glowed. Most of the class instinctively ducked, but nothing happened, and nothing seemed different when they looked up.
Shoulders relaxed, and subtle sighs of relief were breathed.
And then a voice came from the front of the room, by Lan Qiren’s desk. ]
During the guest lectures, Lan Qiren accidentally triggers an array that shows a glimpse into the future.
It's certainly educational.

Lan Wangji is startled like a young doe, unsure of what to do until Wei Wuxian reaches out and pins the flower in between all of Lan Wangji’s notes and qin.
“Lan-gongzi, will you come back to play for me again some night?” Wei Wuxian teases. Lan Wangji stares down at the flower, and the shadow casts over his face in a manner that shields the tone of his face. He doesn’t reply, and Wei Wuxian laughs awkwardly at the silence. “You can just say no if you don’t want to. But if you come back again, I’ll give you another flower for your trouble.”

Summary
Treating him well or no wouldn’t have much meaning in what they were about to do, Lan Wangji had thought. There were roles to fulfill and steps to follow. He knew his part and he assumed his partner did too. It was a given that he would be courteous and careful. His partner was royalty, a guest, and above all someone who was both able and willing to help his Clan. That would be enough.
