Summary
Jason wanted them to see the credited name Red Hood and wonder if it was connected to the Joker. He wanted the lyrics to feel like a gut punch and remind them of the dead kid from Crime Alley. Jason wanted to haunt the narrative. And he would do it whilst bringing comfort to the masses through his art.
--- or ---
What if Jason Todd never went back to Gotham in search for revenge? What if Jason Todd simply put his life as a vigilante behind and pursued a career as a lyricist and song writer? What happens when the family he left behind hears his songs? And what happens when they find out that the famous songwriter and lyricist The Red Hood used to be the Robin who's wings got clipped?

Bookmarker's Notes
Kicking my feet in the air and cheering when I guessed that Dick’s song would be Merry Christmas Please Don’t Call after the others had been revealed and you dropped the line about Christmas. Actually screaming when it got name dropped. Screaming when I saw Silver Spoons by Erin LeCount. I haven’t heard most of the others yet but will listen. The song choices were phenomenal. The writing was so emotive, I could feel the pain. This was such a fun read. I interpret some of the characters differently and a lot of it is distinctly non-canon, especially the relationships, but overall this was so delicious.

“Batman.. My men will take him down if they see him again, but I’ve seen him. He’s a kid. You can tell just by the way he carries himself and..”
“Kids deserve a second chance, I know. I’ll find him, Gordon. Just keep your men out of it until then. Does he go by any sort of name?”
“Yeah,” Gordon lit the tip of his cigarette on fire and the ember glowed against the darkness, “Calls himself The Red Hood.”
