Summary
Dan Heng once thought that hell would freeze over before he would willingly return to the Xianzhou, but to his own chagrin, he ends up crawling right back to his homeland 10 years after he left it.
There’s nothing to it — he needs money, and his job as a model is dependent on gigs. Most of the gigs offered to him — a Vidyadhara who, due to fateful circumstances, inherited his race’s ancient draconic features — are from the very country where the Vidyadhara live.
Avoiding his hometown of Scalegorge Waterscape, he moves to the Xianzhou capital — the Luofu, the city amongst the clouds, a place that has always sounded like a fantastical dream to him.
It’s not permanent, he thinks, because nothing in his life is. But then he meets Jing Yuan, the CEO of an alchemy empire known all throughout the Xianzhou, who seems determined to find a place for him to belong.

The Shackling Prison.
A place deep in the Snezhnayian mountains at the very top where dark clouds obstructed the dark black building, howling winds the only sounds outside the prison and inside was the groans of heavy metal and wood doors, the clinks and clanking of heavy metal chains swaying from the ceiling or the sound of chains scraping across cold dirty stone floors. A sniffle from a inmate or a cough from a guard the only sounds of life.
There were hardly any guards or staff in the Shackling Prison, a place far away from the eyes of the Tsaritsa - for if she knew such a cold inhumane place existed in her very domain she would raze it to the ground herself.
It was always dark inside with sometimes a hint of muggy looking natural light filtering through the clouds and barred windows.
||Two dragon eggs were found seemingly abandoned by the Warden of the Shackling Prison; under the assumption they were Dragon Sovereign eggs he took them without question to raise them to siphon their power. ||
