Summary
Jazz should have waited. He should have retreated and called for back-up. He should have left Prowl alone to hide behind his rocks and lick his wounds.
But this was Prowl.
His Prowler.
He'd come back from the grave.

After an operation goes horribly wrong and Prowl is presumed killed in action, Jazz begins to slowly, reluctantly move on with his life.
On a routine recon mission, Jazz comes across the very mech he's spent ages trying to mourn. Yet, Prowl is different. He doesn't speak. He doesn't question. All he does is hiss and growl and stare, cautiously, as Jazz tries to bring the Prowl he knows and loves back to him.
AKA: A stranger comes home wearing your dead best friend's face.

Summary
Prowl was not petty. He did not bother with trivial things like gossip.
However, he was also not so much of a coward as to go running to Prime the second someone tried messing with him. He could handle a few wayward pranksters. So long as he didn't give them the reaction they wanted so badly, they would soon lose interest, and he could get back to performing his duties.
(Or, Prowl threatens a fellow Autobot with bodily harm, and is completely justified in doing so.)

It still seemed weird to Miko that you could drive for hours in America and be inside the same region. In the early days of her exchange here, she'd asked about it a lot. "Are we still in Nevada?" "Still Nevada?" "Still Nevada?" and the bleak desert landscape had stretched on and on and on, into the horizon and, apparently, forever.
[Miko and Bulkhead take a trip out to a drive-in theatre for a school project. Miko, at least, has a very educational night.]

And yet, he had no clue why he felt a visceral urge to explain his status to the Prime of all mechs. That was not correct either. He knew why. The Senate was currently rusting away yet the ideas they had implanted in his helm vorns ago were still hardwired into his processor.”

Or, being the Chief Tactical Officer and the Second-in-Command of the entire Autobot army is not an enviable position. After a command meeting goes awry, Prowl struggles to understand his responsibilities while grappling with doubts he had believed to be long-buried.

Summary
Prowl is one of a dozen Praxian Enforcer Models created to infiltrate the paramilitary group of insurgents calling themselves 'Decepticons'.
When Praxus falls, her agents are left adrift. Some flee—to the Autobots or the stars beyond Cybertron. Others remain, having experienced very little of life outside the Decepticons, and having little desire to.
Prowl, deeply entrenched in their poorly managed tactical department, is in too precarious a position to risk any form of extraction. They all know it. And his fellow Praxians know better than to risk their own stations on old sentiment.
Enter Jazz, Decepticon T&I's newest darling, and the absolute bane of Prowl's existence.
