Summary
The murder of the wife and child of prolific psychic Patrick Jane was all the news seemed to talk about for months following the incident. Everyone and their mother knows who Patrick Jane is…and who he’s lost.
Jane doesn’t understand why everyone feels the need to bring it up—why they act as if they have the right to talk about him or his family.
Still, he can never quite bring himself to tell them off.
The team has no such reservations.
Or, four times a member of the team stands up for Jane, and one time Jane does it himself.

It was easy to forget, sometimes, that everyone in the New World was there for a reason. With how strong the Strawhats had gotten, with how strong he had gotten, the thought that they could ever be hurt, let alone defeated, crossed Zoro’s mind less and less. It was at times like these, however, when he remembered. When he couldn’t afford to forget.
Everyone in the New World was there for a reason. Everyone in the New World was there because they were powerful – powerful enough to survive the absolute insanity that came with the Grand Line. And sometimes – just sometimes – even the Strawhats were faced with a dilemma like this.

Usopp shot upright like he’d been struck by lightning. “THAT’S IT!”
Everyone looked up in varying degrees of concern.
“We need… a show!”
Sanji poked his head out from the kitchen window. “What kind of show?”
Usopp was already scrambling for tools and paper. “A talent show! We’ve got nothing better to do! The crew’s full of amazing skills—and now, I, the master of performance, shall bring them to LIGHT!”
Franky gasped audibly from the engine room. Within seconds, he launched himself onto the deck, skates screeching. “A talent show?! THAT’S SUPER!”
“I don’t have any talent,” Zoro said, already trying to stand up and walk away.
“Wrong,” Usopp declared, blocking his path dramatically with a piece of plywood. “Your talent is… lifting stuff.”
“That’s not a talent.”
“It is if you do it impressively,” Usopp said with a grin.
