Summary
For all these dusty star-maps, all these silent rebellions, all these ancient mind games, who would have guessed that one single out-of-place knife could change the fate of all the known universe?

Summary
Jason stared at the trees beside him, the fields, the endless stretch of roads. “I think…” he started, slowly, words like thick honey in his throat. “I think I’m really tired, Roy.”
Silence stretched across the phone line, only interrupted by Roy’s quiet breaths. It wasn’t an awkward silence. It was an understanding silence. It was a ‘I’ve been exactly where you are and it’s scaring me’ silence.
“Jaybird,” he said, still so casual, “are you at your place right now? I was thinking, what with Lian a little sick, we can all come round and have some Thai. Sound like a plan?”
Jason ran a hand across his face, knew he had to say it now before he backed out. “Tell her… tell her Uncle Jay says he wishes her a goodnight sleep.”
AKA: The Lazarus Pit doesn't exactly cause madness and Jason is suffering for it.

Summary
On the fourth day, it becomes clear that Joe is organizing something—more muscle than usual, a few more Black Mask affiliates than there should be. The few glimpses of Joe that Dick gets, he’s on his phone, speaking rapidly and gesturing emphatically.
On the fifth day, everything is quiet. No one comes, no one goes.
On the sixth day, Tim calls Dick: they’re not sure where Jason is. And yeah, maybe that’s just normal, and they’re not panicking yet. But they’re not sure where he is. And they’re about to start looking.
And on the seventh day, Bruce shows up at his door with Jason standing next to him, pale and hacking out a cough, putting too much weight on Bruce’s shoulder, and says: “I need to ask you a favor.”
OR
Dick is supposed to be on a boring stakeout assignment. Jason complicates that.

Summary
“You should have told me you had the car,” Jason mumbles after a minute, and Dick laughs humorlessly.
“When? When you hated us? How would that have come up? ‘Hey, sorry we betrayed you and ruined your life, here’s a car?’”
“Honestly that may have worked better than you’d guess,” Jason says with a smidge of a smile, and it’s enough to make Dick lighten his tone, too.
“Dude, the second we knew it was you, we should have started leaving Bruce’s cars out like offerings.”
Jason nods. “That’s what I was waiting for,” he says dryly, “but you guys kept coming for me with pathos appeals.”

Summary
Somewhere in the garage, Jason squeaks to a stop again, but this time, there’s no shouted exclamations, and the footsteps don’t start again. Dick furrows his brow. It sounds like he stopped near the Japanese cars, and Dick can’t even remember what’s over there. He picks up his pace from where he had been meandering through the garage and beelines to where he thinks Jason is, the sudden silence unnerving him. God, what if something’s wrong, what if—
Jason is standing, arms frozen at his sides, breath shallow, jaw clenched tight, eyes the size of dinner plates. When Dick sees what he’s staring at, he can’t help the smirk. Jason turns his whole head to look at Dick and says, in a near whisper: “is that a Supra?”
“Yeah,” says Dick, “that’s the Supra.”
OR
Bruce requests that Dick try to bond with Jason before the adoption and leaves zero instructions on how to do that. Dick improvises.

Summary
“My mother taught you that disarming method,” Damian says flatly, and Jason nearly chokes.
“What?”
“What you did with your wrist.” Damian looks away, bored. “That’s my mother’s move.”
“Probably,” Jason admits.
Damian nods. “My mother. She was fond of you?”
“I don’t know,” Jason says automatically. “How fond can you be of a gun?”
OR
The Bats start to fall into the rhythm of a family, and Jason reflects on all the familial love he’s known.
