Hugo leaned in closer, “You see the future of the field, Yoichi. You are the heart of Blue Lock. But a team full of strikers is not enough to win the World Cup."
"And a team full of number twos will never become number one."
Isagi shot back instantly, a fierce grin breaking across his face. He felt alive in a completely different way now, the exhaustion forgotten as he matched Hugo wit for wit.

Summary
Isagi Yoichi always had a dream: to become the best striker in the world. So... when did it all change? When did he realize that there was no longer any point in that pathetic dream? When... did he stop enjoying the sport he had loved so much since he was a child and become an almost empty shell, with only negative feelings left in his mind?
Since joining Blue Lock, he had gone through all the stages, gradually advanced to world level and made it to the top of the world, but in the end, none of it had any meaning anymore, so he simply got tired. He left his career, his friends and his parents behind and started a new life.
However, after another workday, Isagi returned to his house and realized that it had been broken into. But it was too late. He had been killed. Killed by someone who admired him. And as the blood dripped to the ground during a meteor shower, he wished he could go back and put things right and enjoy soccer again.
So, in response to his wish, he went back in time. He had been given a second chance, and he wouldn't waste it.
He would go back to being the Isagi who loved soccer so much and, once again, he would reach the top of the world to become the best striker of all.

Summary
After taking a few more steps into the room, the tall, burgundy teen came to a halt. He noticed how Yoich's neck shuddered, likely taking notice of his presence. The muscles in the egotist's neck flexed as he was about to turn and see what the disruption of one of the calm moments he shared with Rin was about. Before he had the chance to execute the motion, though, his ears were suddenly assaulted by English words with a strong French accent that almost made him jump out of his skin.
"Do you really mean what you just said, Isagi Yoich? Or is this merely a tasteless and unsuitable joke?" Vivian asked in what had to sound like pure bewilderment to the other two teens. His normally emotionless eyes were gaping wide and intense, the edges of his retinas chaotic from a strong sense of both disbelief and uncertainty. After all, there was always the chance his earbuds translated Yoichi's native language incorrectly, which could lead to unfortunate moments such as the one he suddenly found himself in.

Summary
Kaiser smiles gleefully at him. He’s mouthing something that Isagi can’t quite make out, but from the way the siren points his index finger back and forth between them, it goes like a challenge.
A bet.
Watching Kaiser’s delicate lips move, Isagi, not even sure what possesses him, somehow understands Kaiser.
Let’s bet whether you’ll survive me next time.
A fight declaration, it seems.
After graduating from a renowned academy, Isagi found a new job at a research institute. He is tasked to study Kaiser, a hostile and abused siren, for the sake of humanity’s knowledge of mythical creatures. The fallout is simple—he could be killed.
Yet Isagi survives his first encounter with Kaiser, and now the siren acknowledges him as something other than potential food—like his fateful mate.
