Society was not necessarily as it was before. The symbol of peace, admired by all, was an omega, All Might, instead of an alpha who usually are always on top; both to do good, in heroism, and for evil, in villainy.
Katsuki was a big fan. His inspiration to become a hero was All Might, and for that he needed to have self-control and discipline. Would hate to take advantage of the alpha privilege, of not needing to control himself, when it could do huge damage with such a destructive quirk.

“He wants to ride the bull.” Neil says, making Andrew roll his eyes. Andrew sits down, not caring enough to join, and Neil lets Nicky lead him to the corner of the bar. Nicky’s attempt is almost good until he gets thrown off and bounces a few times against the padded floor. Neil laughs at Nicky and then Nicky stands up and bows, as if he did incredibly.
When Nicky gets out of the ring, he says, “You have to try it, it’s so fun.”
“I’d die before doing that.” Neil says, rolling his eyes as some poor girl is thrown off.
“I’ll give you fifty bucks to do it.” Nicky says, and that makes Neil’s eyebrow raise.
“A hundred.” Neil challenges, not expecting Nicky to agree.
“Fine.” Nicky says, grinning. “No takebacks. You’re riding that bull.” He says quickly and Neil sighs.
“Whatever,” Neil says, shaking his head.

“Neil knows what I want,” Andrew snaps. This is not Andrew’s fault.

Because Neil always knows. He is as fluent in Andrew’s micro-expressions as he is in German and French. He knows which head tilts mean “go on” and which ones mean “shut up.” Without ever asking, he learned what it meant to see Andrew wearing double layers of long sleeves, or taking multiple showers in a day, and learned to hand Andrew the car keys.
That has always been the most terrifying thing about Neil — his patience to wait, watch, listen, learn. The prospect that if Neil were given enough time, there would be no part of Andrew that was just Andrew’s anymore.
“He has to know,” Andrew says.
“Does he?” Renee says. “Have you ever known Neil to assume that he is wanted?”
Five times Neil tells someone that he and Andrew aren’t dating, and one time Andrew uses his words to set the record straight.
