Summary
Maybe what scares him most is how meaningless it feels even to himself. He's fought so fiercely to live, to carve out space for himself with bared teeth and bloodied fists, but the force and drive that had him surviving for so long just isn't anywhere near enough in the face of this complete hopelessness. And so what else is he to do but slump into the corner and see if he'll get lucky enough just to slip gently into oblivion.
And isn't that some sick fucking joke.
Self-indulgent platonic bloodymary fic in which Simon is a teenager that Grace finds cast out into space to die. Someone needs to get that man a child.

Simon once considered himself to be a pious man, but now he wasn't so sure. His faith was being tested as the Blood Eel dragged him into the afterlife with it. It was going to be a cruel afterlife - one of punishment and retribution. It was going to be the afterlife that a wretch like Simon deserved. He had resigned himself to his fate until an angel appeared. At least, that's what Simon though it was. All Simon knew was that this angel shouldn't have come for him. All Ryland Grace knew was "no man left behind".

‘Did you even want to be saved?’ The voice asked her- sounding more like Mercer’s now as she was dragged even further back into the memory- pinned down by an AMP, the grooves of its boots digging into her flesh as she gasped for breath- hands clutched uselessly at the boot of the AMP as they stared up at it in a daze, still reeling from the punch that left warm blood trickling out of her nose.
Tamtey remained defiant as she hissed up at the AMP, pupils like pinpricks as she glared it down with gritted teeth. The small bit of hope she had held onto however, crumbled away as she heard the click of a gun being cocked.
