Summary
Upon the lawless Rimworld only known to the inhabitants as 'The Rock,' around the year 5,500 AD, outsiders whisper of a backward, secretive group of Tribals, living in isolation in the midst of a vast, wilderness steppe, beneath a Mountain said to host many secrets and myths. Some try and learn these secrets for their own gain, but they are never heard from again, or their faces reappear among the Tribals themselves, converted to their way of life and worshipping the same Queen they all do. As a result, the tribe holds it's own territory with a zealous might, never revealing anything of their way of life to outsiders, and making some groups wary of their lands.
Within the tribe itself, there's factions, loyalties and a strong relationship with their strange allies. These power-structures are usually static and solid, but a time of great change has arrived, when three women of the tribe will have their view of it changed for the rest of their days. However, there's an army marching on their home, and a new Queen rising to seize power for herself, although she's still growing inside the belly of her Broodmother....
The life for all within the tribe is about to change forever!

Summary
On the countless Rimworlds, the comfort and security of a strong community is something few enjoy, and fewer still when the group is tribalistic in nature, where nomadic lifestyles and sustenance farming are barely enough to feed the many mouths.
Most of those with technology ignore tribals, treating them as little more than target practice and a minor nuisance, but a few tribal groups claim lands as their own, eat well and defend their own regions from any that threaten them. Some even go further, living alongside strange allies, adopting ways of life that support them, and in return, relying on their forces for mutual support.
The Black Chitin share a symbiotic relationship with their own allies, and worship their Queen as their own monarch. Around 5,500 AD, the Rimworlds are isolated, sparsely populated rocks that are wild, dangerous places to settle, and the technology of the Glitterworlds is little more than a fantasy to those that strive to survive every day. Battling starvation, the environment, the wildlife, and even other humans to keep what few possessions they have safe, and their family and friends fed. Then it all starts again as soon as a new dawn brightens the sky.
Whether you wield a knife, a gun or a bow, the struggles are repeated by everyone, and it doesn't matter if your bedroom is lit by electric light, candle, or firelight, you know that every day can be your last!
This is a collection of stories of a few individuals, and the ways they finally found a home with a tribe that live underground, sharing a mountain with their Queen.
