Summary
There’s no way he can act normal around Soobin. It’s a sure way to cause problems in their team. After the initial rejection maybe things would blow over, or maybe Soobin would switch dorms, and really demote Beomgyu from his best friend spot.
It’s a horrifying realization. He doesn’t want to lose Soobin. That’s his other half. His life companion.
He’s not even angry anymore.
Only terrified.

Soobin and Beomgyu have been quietly dating, keeping everything private. During a group filming, they are assigned to take care of a baby for a short project, just temporary content. But Beomgyu grows attached, and the feeling does not fade after filming ends.
Soobin noticed it. He had been noticing it for months, the way Beomgyu stopped laughing things off the same way, the way he stayed longer near Yujun even when he didn’t have to, the way he looked like he was holding onto something invisible without admitting it.
Beomgyu finally spoke again, even softer this time. His voice dropped lower, almost careful, like he was afraid saying it too loudly would make it feel less real.
“I think we should adopt a kid.”
Soobin went still, not startled or refusing, just thinking. At first, he tells himself it is not realistic for them because of idol life, schedules, and company rules. Something like that should not work, but he does not shut the idea down either.

Taking the heart, the child excitedly inspected it, nodding in glee. “Yes! My mama told me that when someone leaves the hospital to go to heaven, we all fold a paper heart for them! Like this, like this!”
“That’s right,” chuckled Soobin. “But do you know how it started? It started here, in this room. From a boy who used to fold a paper heart every day for his lost love, hoping each one he makes will take him closer to the day those eyes would open again.”
"Unfortunately for him, the day never came."
In other words, a hopeless love story of two childhood best friends who didn't realise what it meant to have each other until it was too late; compiled of yearning, loss, forlorn hope, unrequited love, and every tragedy in between.
