Summary
When Will Byers enrolls into RISD for illustration after Highschool he finds himself in a relationship with Lucas’s basketball friend, and his now (basically) roommate, Carlton.
To the blind eye, their relationship looks nice, it’s not like Carlton is necessarily bad to Will or anything but Mike just can’t seem to shake the feeling that he could treat Will better. He knew deep down Carlton would never understand what Will had been through the way he did, despite Will’s constant reassurance that everything was fine.
He tried not to think about it too much but that feeling is all but confirmed when Mike gets a call from Will at 11pm on a random Thursday, asking if he can come stay the night with Mike after a less than ideal intimate encounter with his boyfriend.
Or
Mike gets a call from Will after he has a panic attack at the fault of Carlton. Mike eventually learns just how strained their relationship has gotten, especially intimately, as they’ve gotten more “serious”. Mike also realizes just how little Carlton is willing to sympathize with or understands about Will’s trauma.
