Summary
Sonic doesn't talk about his struggles. That's too much of a hassle, to him and everyone around him. It's better when these troublesome thoughts stay safe inside him. As long as they do, they practically don't exist in the outside world - just inside his head. However, they're making quite a mess there in their constant swirling, stubbornly trying to cut their way out through his mouth. Sonic is equally stubborn keeping it shut, and sticks to other activities to keep them at bay. Although this night, they might not be enough.
And so, he calls Shadow to help him let off the steam that's been accumulating in him for some time now. After all, there's no reason for his introverted rival to suddenly want to start the feared conversation with him.

Sonic seems happy-go-lucky while going through his past. Still, Shadow calls him out on it, and in the middle of denying it an interruption from Classic directly contradicts Sonic's denials. Knowing Shadow won't let it go, Sonic finally tells him about something that is personal and very not happy-go-lucky
Featuring Sonic pretending everything is A-Ok when there's clear cracks on the surface, Shadow taking a break from his trauma to grill it out of Sonic, and both of them having weird romantic tension.
