After his wife- his skating partner- left him, Lucifer Magne didn't think that he would ever find joy in skating again. So when his daughter, Charlie, signed him up for the Winter Olympics taking place in Pentagram City, he agreed only to make her happy. So he's rightfully intrigued when he comes down to the rink one night to find it already occupied.
Alastor was born to try god, both metaphorically and literally (just ask Rosie.) So when an 'accident' occurred late in his skating career, he was determined no matter what to get back on the ice. Signing up for the winter Olympics probably wasn't the greatest idea on his behalf, especially as it broke the seven year sabbatical he had taken from the rink. But he was never one to act on good decisions. That was probably the reason why he decided that actively going out of his way to annoy the blonde man that kept taking up his practice time at night, was a good idea
