“Shane?” asks a lightly accented voice. “Is that you? What the hell is going on here?”
Shane snaps his head around to find—
“Rozanov?”
No, that can’t be right. The man approaching him looks like Rozanov, sure, but he’s bigger, broader through the shoulders, and his hair is cropped close on the sides. He’s also… kinda old, actually? He’s not like dad old, but he’s definitely not Shane’s age. The cut of his cheekbones is even more severe than usual. There are salt and pepper threads in his tousled curls, and white at his temples.
The man is looking around the room with a bewildered expression, evidently trying to figure out some kind of puzzle. He has laugh lines, Shane notices. They look inconveniently hot.
Shane leaves Ilya Rozanov's penthouse in Las Vegas that night in 2014, and finds himself face to face with... Ilya Rozanov? But no, that can't be right. This has to be a dream. Doesn't it?
