Xiao Zhan bites his lip against a scream and belatedly bows low. “Your highness.”
Smile growing, the prince inclines his head in acknowledgement but doesn’t drop his outstretched hand. “May I?” he asks, voice so deep Xiao Zhan almost loses the sound of it under the music.
“I—” No? No, you may not? He’s pretty sure he can’t say that. “Alright, um.” Xiao Zhan places his hand atop the prince’s palm.
Or: Xiao Zhan only attends the royal ball as his sister's moral support. He doesn't fall in love with the prince. No, really, he doesn't.

Summary
Daniel’s turning 30 soon, and he’s getting his life together to fulfill a lifelong dream: opening a bakery to sell his prized family recipes.
