    Tim tried to believe, if only for a little while. In kindergarten, his class had written letters to the big man...Tim's was only one sentence long.

    "I want mommy and daddy home for Christmas."

    They'd been in Egypt through New Year's.

    He wrote again in first grade.

    "Please let mom and dad be home for Christmas."

    And in second.

    "Please, if you are real at all, can you bring my parents home for Christmas?"

    He hadn't really truly believed in the mythological man, but boy had he wanted to. Boy had he tried.

     

    OR

    When at a Wayne Enterprises Christmas Gala, Tim meets "Santa". Reluctantly, Tim asks him for what he's always wanted for the holidays - to be with his family. He just might get his wish, even if it's not exactly in the way he would have ever imagined.

"Tim. Timmy. Answer me this. Where exactly is the old man? Actually, better question: Why in the ever-living hell is the answer to that anything other than 'right here'?"

    Tim gave a huff that sounded more tired than defiant. "Because, like I said, it's a mild case and I don't need to be under observation. I already told Bruce the same thing I told you: I'm fine."

    Why is it always Tim that disappears? If it was any of the rest of them, it would be a lot less concerning. It’s not like Tim can’t hold his own in a fight — he’s a Bat, after all — but the kid has a tendency to form the craziest plans out of all of them, which often ends up putting him in the craziest situations. When Tim goes missing, it usually means he’s in some deep shit, and Tim in deep shit means Jason scrambling every time. Without fail. This fucking kid.

    Tim is missing and his brothers track him down and bring him home. Also everybody loves each other and isn't so incredibly emotionally constipated because I just want them to be happy and because I'm the author and I said so.

    In the distance, way over by the docks, Jason saw a pillar of smoke. He wrinkled his nose at it. Explosion. The Bats must be having a busy night. So why was Tim calling him?
    “Jason!” Tim wheezed out again, sounding absolutely delirious. “Don’t let them bury me with my parents.”
