Summary
“She sentenced you to death just for being scared,” Simon mutters, sounding less like he's talking to Grace and more like he's telling himself this.
Grace never thought of it like that. He doesn't like blaming Stratt, because she had to do what she had to do... but just this once, he'll let himself. “Yeah.”
They sit in silence for a long time. Simon usually looks sort of broody, but now he looks even more forlorn. There’s clearly something on his mind, but Grace doesn’t want to ask for fear of pushing him away.
Finally, Simon speaks. "We're the same."

Summary
Grace's favorite book is Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, and he finds himself returning to a certain quote. “Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.” In context, it makes a lot more sense, but it boils down to this: the universe is so massive that the chance of even bumping into a piece of debris out there, let alone another spaceship, is almost entirely impossible.
“So,” he thinks aloud, “how in the heck is there another craft out there?”
aka Grace and Rocky pick up Simon on their way back from planet Adrian, and they try to live, because what else can they do?

Summary
despite being a burnt-out gifted kid who was three years ahead in school and somehow still wound up at community college (in Naples, Florida of all places), Fugo's life is at a relative high point. he has a wonderful partner named Narancia that he loves with his whole heart, he has an awesome group of friends who run an Italian club, and getting disowned by his family also meant that he never has to deal with them again.
of course, high points never last, do they?
the arrival of Giorno Giovanna is enough to turn Fugo's life entirely on its head, sending him down a spiral of mafia conspiracies, death and betrayal, and worst of all, conflicting feelings that he doesn't know what to do with.
he knows that he's going to lose everything eventually. however, no matter how bad the situation, there's always something to be gained.
