Summary
A process is recursive when it defines or contains itself; e.g., the Fibonacci sequence, which determines the next number as the sum of the previous two.
But not all recursive processes are mathematical. Recursion can happen in a temporal context when, for instance, the powerful magical force that is true love drags you back in time so it can create itself, endangering the fate of the Wizarding World—not to mention the very fabric of space and time—along the way.

Summary
He thinks about Kevin; about his loud, boisterous laugh, his friendly punches and pats, his handsome grinning face. He thinks about his comforting humor, his strong spirit, his unwillingness to give up. He thinks about Kevin, and his heart warms, and lungs burn. Jose turns to face away from the book as he coughs and hacks and retches blue petals after petals, gasping for air when the fit passes.
There are more petals in his hands than ever before, a few having fallen on the floor around his feet as well, and Jose despairs.
It’s hard to keep lying to yourself that what you’re feeling is platonic when the physical evidence of your love is manifesting in your body.
