Summary
There isn't exactly a standard operating procedure for when your student tries to eat a class pet. That said, the academy does have a strict policy and protocol for biting.
So, while the school nurse cleans up Lan Zhan's bloody mouth and administers a rabies shot—and while a veterinarian examines the pangolin for signs of post-traumatic stress disorder—Wei Ying sets up an afterschool meeting with Lan Zhan's guardian.
He leaves the finer details intentionally vague during the call, unable to find the proper words for "your emotionally-repressed six-year-old just tried to maul a near-extinct mammal, and I don't have the first fucking clue why."
Wei Ying's most notorious and entitled student spends six years terrorizing anyone who dares to get close to him. When 12-year-old Lan Zhan finally graduates and leaves the country, the entire school breathes a sigh of relief.
But then, a mysterious new teacher arrives at the academy not even a week later. He's older than Wei Ying, devastatingly handsome, and has more college degrees than anyone has a right to possess.
And he looks at Wei Ying like he's waited a lifetime to meet him.

Lan Zhan is not expecting the man who is bent over the car’s grill, buffing it with his perky ass in the air dressed in what look like running shorts of nearly indecent skimpiness. He straightens, dumping the sponge in a bucket of water and splashing droplets of water on his long, bare golden legs. He could be a booth bunny at Muscle Car Nationals, if booth bunnies came in twink flavour. His shirt is a faded t, the sleeves cut out with the cuts dipping halfway down the side seams to reveal bronzed skin and a hint of black ink.
The boy toy of the man selling the car? Some neighbourhood youth working for chump change? Lan Zhan checks his phone. He’s looking for Wei Ying. The boy – man? – cleaning the car will know.

Summary
In Cloud Recesses Private Academy at Gusu, few things were as anticipated and as dreaded as Home Economics for the final year students. For an entire semester, students were put into pairs and received the daunting task of taking care of a fake baby.
Oddly, it had become tradition for at least one pair of students to end up romantically by the end of the semester. Even more oddly, it had become tradition for at least one student to present their secondary genders, thanks to the stimulating experience of raising a child.
This year, Wei Wuxian had the absolute best (according to him) or worst (according to everyone else) luck to be paired with Lan Wangji, who had recently presented as an alpha. Meanwhile, Wei Wuxian didn’t know his secondary gender yet.
Wei Wuxian was determined to ace this project. After all, raising a child with the stiff Lan-er-gege would be so amusing! Surely, nothing could go wrong?
