Summary
Sokka had spent most of his childhood looking up.
He’d stare up at his father and the other warriors. He'd stare up at his mother and Gran Gran when they’d lean down to pick him up or press a kiss to his forehead.
He stared up at the older village kids, and up at the huge polar dogs roaming the outskirts, and up at the snow falling slow and lazy from the clouds high, high above.
Then he started to grow. The snow turned to ash, his mother died, his father left, and he didn’t have much to look up to anymore.
There was only one thing that stayed consistent, that always stayed far above his head, out of reach.
Glowing brightly and always pulling his attention– the Moon.

When a bomb tears through the council chamber, Sokka reacts on instinct, shoving Zuko out of the way at the cost of taking the full force of the falling ceiling himself. Stuck in the dark with Sokka pinned beneath heavy debris, every shallow breath becomes a losing battle while they pray the rescue team reaches them in time.

Summary
100 years ago, the four nations lived in harmony. That all changed when the Fire Nation attacked. With the Airbenders killed or captured, the world's hope for the Avatar was lost. Yet, they still kept fighting.
70 years after the war began, the Fire Nation unleashes a man-made plague to weaken the other nations. It did not go as planned. Their cure stopped working for their own people, so they closed their borders. The Earth Kingdom suffered from the diseased unleashed, turning citizens into cannibalistic monsters.
30 years after the initial outbreak, Sokka is running for his life from zombies. Tui and La, how did he end up here? All he wanted to do was find his dad. And now?
Now he may be dead meat.
