Summary
Félix was a fan of words, and yet knew of none that properly described Marinette. Pretty wasn’t nearly strong enough, but he supposed it would have to suffice. He had yet to tear his eyes away from the girl. He had known that he was to come as Ladybug, and her as Chat Noir, but it wasn’t until now that he fully understood the feeling of being cast as her other half- even in a fictional scenario.

At the end of the day, he gave himself one last chance to back out. She would be disappointed, he knew, but she wouldn’t question it. She’d smile at him with the same understanding she does everyone, and link arms with him, and drag him to the bakery, where her parents would fuss over them to her playful irritation, and his subtle enjoyment. And everything would be warm and happy, for just a little while. But he looked at her, waiting for him, giddy, bouncing on her toes. She saw him. She smiled.
Twenty minutes later, they were standing at his door. It was large and formidable, as was the house. He took a deep breath, sparing Marinette a nervous glance. She smiled obliviously back at him. He opened the door. They stepped inside.

Summary
Marinette couldn’t help it. She collapsed against Félix, cackling. He kept his arm around her, making sure she wouldn’t fall. She glanced at him, seeing him trying desperately to suppress a smile. She reached up, and pushed the corners of his mouth into a grin. He looked down at her, and soon he was laughing too. Quiet, soft laughter. Happy. She liked it when he was happy. He took her breath away. She didn’t notice the room going quiet, caught up in his eyes.
