Iwaizumi Hajime - aspiring chef, world's best dad, and an all around good guy - just wanted to help out someone he wouldn't quite call a "friend." Maybe he helped just a bit too much. But you can't really expect such a deadbeat human being to get anywhere in the world without a little push, right?

“I’m in love,” Oikawa declared, succumbing to the warm embrace of his arms once more, burying his head deep within the confines.
“You’re dating someone? Oh shit, I didn’t know that,” Kuroo whistled.
“I wish,” Oikawa responded with a sigh, memory flashing back to the handsome stranger and his green eyes, warm complexion, and those arms –
“Oh, so it’s that kind of love. Alright, hit me. What’s his name?” Oikawa’s face twisted down in an offended glare. “You don’t know his name?” Kuroo asked carefully, lips teetering on the edge of a smile.
“Not yet, but I will. Mark my words, the next time he comes in here I’m going to get his name and his number,” Oikawa announced firmly.
“That is, if he comes back. You know, this could have been a one time thing,” Bokuto reminded unhelpfully.
“I take back what I said earlier. I’m firing you,” Oikawa deadpanned.

Summary
Iwaizumi's face is so much clearer now. He seems like a man of his regiment; sharp edges that could express benevolence, ultraviolence, unforgiving hazel eyes, the bearer of cruel tidings, knuckles firm and ruddy – all of which disproportionate to the way his hands would gently graze over Oikawa's deathly pale ones.

Summary
It’s July 10th, 2024, and Oikawa Tooru is an Olympian. His smiling face airs on an NHK promo every 45 seconds. He’s captain of the national men’s volleyball team, reigning star of the professional leagues, and he hasn't spoken to Iwaizumi Hajime in two years.
He has, however, sent Iwaizumi tickets for the 2024 Los Angeles Summer Games.
“So go,” says Matsukawa's voice. “It’s only a few weeks. You’ve got a whole city to hide in if it gets awkward, and if it doesn’t get awkward, well…”
It’s like watching the future reconfigure, like being in high school again, watching team after team fall to Oikawa’s faultless planning and shameless charm.
“I’ll get to watch a whole lot of volleyball,” Hajime says, and resigns himself to fate and/or Oikawa Tooru.
“Hey, when you get there, can you bag a gymnast for me?” Hanamaki asks, and Matsukawa squawks.

'When Hinata woke in the evening, he half expected to see the wild man mysteriously gone, as though he'd never been there in the first place.
But instead, there he lay, fast asleep. Shafts of deep golden sunlight fell across the man's sleeping form, and Hinata stared at him, transfixed.
