Summary
Another bubble of emotion, another moment where Etho knew his mind wasn’t keeping up with his mouth.“I know, but like, what if you miss one of your water bucket drops, you know?”
It wasn’t like him and Joel knew each other that well- it was a valid question to have. It was more about his tone, the way Joel’s eyes flashed with a far too large amount of clarity for mere acquaintances. He took another step closer, dropping the pickaxe back to his side just so he could reach up and brush what had to be dirt off of Etho’s shoulder. The touch felt like a dead redstone wire, a low heat that felt more dangerous than it was. It was still there though, especially since Joel hadn’t moved his hand off his shoulder after he was done. It was awkward, a brotherly kind of clasp that didn’t match the way his fingers twitched like he was feeling the heat as well. It felt vulnerable, for some reason, and that wasn’t something either of them dealt with well. Looking up at him, Joel’s mouth opened and closed for a moment before a familiar fire seemed to reignite back in his eyes, throwing sparks like embers in the forges.
“I never miss.”
Etho and Joel are soulmates, Etho doesn't know how to feel about it all.

Summary
It was quiet, Etho running his hands through his hair. A summons, from the king. Something Etho really couldn’t ignore. He wasn’t a prince, he wasn’t even the words behind the letters. Oh gods, had the king gotten a hold of some of Pearl’s letters? If that happened, there was no way Etho would be able to-
To do what? What was Etho even saying? To do…another scam? The biggest scam they could ever do. A robbery of the royal vault, filled to the brim with gold, more than any of them could spend in one lifetime.
It was like the three of them got to the same place at the same time, all three of them looking up at each other with varying degrees of excitement. “We can’t.” Tango instantly said, a smile already starting to grow on his face.
“It would be a death wish.” Etho agreed.
“I mean,” Pearl paused, eyes flicking down towards the letter again. “Ignoring a summons like that, that would be a death wish as well.” There was another pause, Pearl letting the sentiment really sink in. Then-
“It would be the greatest scam we could ever do.”
-Etho accidentally lies his way into his kingdom's castle, and worse, into the sights of the king.-

Summary
Death, as a concept, has never been something that scary to Etho.
“Man, they are-” Etho swallowed hard, cringing at how tight his voice sounded. “They are really waiting till the last moment, aren’t they?”
None of them asked who ‘they’ were. Etho really didn’t know himself, it was just easier to blame something like this on someone other than his failing body. Of course, his body didn’t feel like it was failing, but it had to be, because he was dying. He was supposed to be dying, or dead, at 35. He was supposed to-
Five minutes left.
“Do you think it will hurt?”
Etho was supposed to die at 35.
Etho doesn't. -

Summary
Embarrassingly enough, Etho wasn’t sure how long the vase had been sitting on his coffee table. There was a high possibility that his mind just tuned it out, like he had done when it was at Bdubs and his shared apartment. It really was that ugly, the pattern clashing with itself and causing literal headaches, Etho kind of just learned how to ignore it. So sure, Etho wasn’t really aware of how long it had been sitting on his coffee table,
He just knew it shouldn’t be.
-Etho and Bdubs have been broken up for a year. they're totally over it, and not having a custody battle with a vase.

Summary
Tango really should’ve expected the knock.
It wasn’t surprising to see Etho on the other side of the door, a torn mask and a bloody smile that shouldn't have looked as attractive as it did. His arm was hanging loose at his side, probably dislocated. The superhero just leaned against the frame, making Tango huff out something tired. “Hey, T.” Etho finally spoke, voice sounding a bit tight. “Got room in the inn?”
“You’re so stupid, man.”
Etho, Tango, and the fact that nothing changes, even if they wanted it to.
