Beautiful. Tragic. Not a genre I've ever read by choice before but makes me feel like I've experienced it. It describes things in a very interesting way that sketchily implies the entirety of the story's timespan even as only few events are covered in detail, like there's a whole other fic's worth of adventures and anecdotes in between scenes. Very fun mess of anachronisms and setting details.
