The owl whit-whooed gently and nipped at Harry's little finger, only then did the teenager notice it, and the silver cannister it carried.
Frowning, Harry detached the cannister and examined it. It hummed with various security charms, and had the motif of the Ministry of Magic on the cap. As he touched the cap the charms released and he was able to take out the thick scroll of vellum inside. As he pulled it out it enlarged itself to twice its size. There was a seal holding it together with the image of a knight's helmet on a shield background.
He touched the seal and it dissolved.
As he pulled the scroll open across the corner of the breakfast table and began to read, he stopped chewing and froze, the last bite of toast forgotten in his hand.
