Reki’s got a new … unconventional way of training. A challenge he made with misplaced confidence and no thought. But win or lose, he's getting what he wants. Even though he hates it, he's getting better at skating. And lying to himself. He finally understands the rush and enjoys being at Adam's complete mercy or lack thereof. It's the fight that makes it all the more satisfying.

Summary
Reki is used to not being the best, but this is the first time he’s been the lesser of two evils.
He watches as Langa’s pale cheeks begin to flush, as his limbs begin to loosen and sprawl on the rug, and feels a keen mixture of guilt and powerlessness.
He knows it’s wrong to keep topping Langa’s drink up when he’s not looking, to keep coaxing him into accepting more, but he can’t stop—this is for Langa’s own good, after all. This might be bad, but the alternative is so much worse that Reki’s hands hardly even tremble as he slides another drink across the table.
