In hindsight, Dick shouldn’t have begun impersonating Bruce for Justice League meetings.
Yes, Bruce had given Dick permission to go in his place as a proxy, but really, it was his fault for assuming that Dick was going to attend as Nightwing. But then Jason found out, and then Tim joined in, then Steph, Cass and Damian, but hell, what else was he supposed to do? Leave them out of the most elaborate hoax in Robin history?
At first it was hilarious, one-upping the core members of the JL, but it’s been years and they’re all in too deep now.

So all he could do was mitigate the damage by taking the wind out of the protagonist’s sails.
By making Cucumber-bro as pathetic as possible! There was no glory in kicking a man while he was down, after all!
Due to a Without-A-Cure flare up, Shang Qinghua is sent to Jin Lan City in Shen Qingqiu's place. Shit, what do you mean the protagonist is back two years early? Okay, Shang Qinghua, think fast, & start talking!

"Crap!" the food truck worker shrieks in alarm. "Don't hurt him, Superman, he's just a kid!"
Clark . . . pauses, then looks up from the kid that he is currently pinning into the street as said kid struggles underneath him.
"'Hurt him'?" he asks in reflexive confusion, and then realizes how batting a teenager around like a person-shaped cat toy and pinning him to the street hard enough to crack it probably actually looks to an outside observer.
. . . um.
Whoops.
"Um," he starts awkwardly, and then the kid slips his pin while he's distracted and throws his arms around his neck with a gleeful laugh and a bright grin.
"Dad!" he crows triumphantly, and hugs Clark harder than literally anyone has ever hugged him before.
