One moment Jason has the Replacement’s throat under his hand and his blood is boiling with irritation and the kid’s wearing that irritating little smirk that means he’s got the information that Jason needs but he’s so desperate to show off about how he found out that he’s willing to take the risk of being strangled. The next moment he’s got a huge hand on his throat, gripping hard, and he’s short and his heart’s going like a rabbit’s and there’s a red helmet inches from his nose.

"Alright, asshole," says Jason and plunks a folder down directly on the keyboard of Tim's laptop. "I'm calling in that IOU."
Tim doesn't startle, not visibly. But all at once there's a batarang in his hand, the blade gleaming sharp. It takes him a second to register who the intruder actually is before he gives Jason a lingering, suspicious sidelong glance and tucks it away again.
"What IOU?" says Tim. "And how'd you get in here?"
He looks like shit, frankly. There are dark smudges under his eyes, and he's lost weight since Jason's seen him last. From the coffee cups scattered around the desk, it's probably even odds that he's on at least 24 hours without sleep.
"I work in mysterious ways," declares Jason. "By which I mean your window's open. You get kind of careless when you haven't slept, Timbo."

When ten year old Tim Drake is paired with the freshly adopted, thirteen year old Jason Todd for a school project, he is ecstatic. He just hopes he can keep his inner fanboy under control. At the same time, his parents’ trips are increasing in length, and Tim is handling it like a champ! Who needs parental supervision? Not him! Although, a little company might be nice…
Meanwhile, Jason is still half convinced that his adoption is an elaborate human trafficking scheme, but this Robin gig is pretty cool. And his new school may be full of rich jerks, but the neighbor kid isn’t too bad. Having an adult trying to take care of him is a bit of an adjustment, but one he might just be able to get used to.
