Summary
In the wake of Voldemort’s defeat, as the lines between justice and vengeance begin to blur across the magical community, Draco returns for his eighth and final year at Hogwarts under the terms and conditions of his probation. With nothing left but determination and a sneer, Draco resolves to pass his NEWTs and make a future for himself that he’ll never be ashamed of. Then students start taking their own revenge, the Weasel is set to go off at any moment, and an angry, haunted Potter begins stalking him again. In all of the madness of nightmares and dueling rooms, auras and side effects, Patronus charms and starry lights, Draco finally learns that the only thing more difficult than facing who you’ve become, is becoming who you are.

Summary
Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy had more in common than one would expect from their bitter school rivalry. Neither wanted the life that was laid out or expected of them. Both had seen too many things and lost too many people to return back to the blissful ignorance they once held. They just wanted peace.
And that was exactly what they found in each other.
Strange events occur, causing Draco to wake up at Number 4 Privet Drive. In an unlikely twist, the two boys become infatuated in one another as the opportunity allows them to see the small things. Such as the way Potter's laugh sounds like hot chocolate on a cold night. Or Malfoy's eyes hold more secrets than anything.
It's one thing to achieve happiness; it's another to keep it. There's a war going on outside after all. And secrets lose their meaning through word of tongue, so is it any surprise when their newest arrangement becomes the focal point of it all?

As he pulls himself out of a daze, he suddenly realizes something changed. Only then does he look down at his hands, placed in his lap and now holding a letter. Draco’s eyes widen.
It’s time.
He had been mildly hoping he wouldn't get a letter, but deep down, he knew he’d be heartbroken if he didn’t. Soulmate letters were long a tale spread around romance and beauty, and believing that someone out there will love him despite all his faults, despite the mark on his body, was too attractive to pass up.
Even so, Draco was under no illusions. He realized that not all soulmates were happy, and not all worked out. His soulmate could hate him, probably would hate him, once he realizes who he is. Still, Draco wants to try. To forge a friendship.--
Soulmate letters, besides being incredibly vague, can’t be read by anyone besides the receiver. The receiver could choose to share what they read, but it could not be coerced or forced out of them through magic, veritaserum, or otherwise.
