Mina lingered a moment longer, watching as Nayeon hummed along with the music, swaying slightly as she moved between counter and stove. Something in her chest tightened—a familiar ache she'd learned to live with.
"What?" Nayeon asked, catching her stare.
"Nothing," Mina smiled. "You just look... happy."
"Had a good meeting with the board today. One step closer." Nayeon winked. "Now go, those work clothes look uncomfortable and you need to relax. Your therapist would be proud of you for leaving before eight, by the way."
Mina rolled her eyes but couldn't suppress her smile. "Yes, boss."
As she walked toward her bedroom, she heard Nayeon call after her: "And don't forget we're having dinner with Jihyo and Jeongyeon tomorrow!"
This was their rhythm—Nayeon anticipating her needs before she could voice them, Mina accepting the care with quiet gratitude. It had been this way since college when they'd first become friends. Friends. The word felt simultaneously right and wholly insufficient for what they were to each other.
Mina closed her bedroom door behind her, leaning against it for a moment. "I'm home." she sighed contentedly.

“How much did Chaeyoung tell you about our household?” Jihyo asked.
“Uh, she said she lives here with you.”
Jihyo rolled her eyes. “Typical Chaeyoung, only giving the barest of details.” She took a seat at the kitchen table and Dahyun followed suit. “I live here, and so does Chaeyoung, yes. But my partner Jeongyeon lives here, too, and so does my girlfriend, Sana, and her girlfriend, Mina.”
“Uh… what?” Dahyun couldn’t filter herself quickly enough.
“We’re poly,” Jihyo said. “Polyamorous?” She looked at Dahyun for a moment. “I can’t believe Chaeyoung didn’t tell you.”
