Shane kneeled beside the tub, grabbed a wet cloth, and carefully washed Ilya’s arms. There was no rush; only the soft sound of the water surrounded them.
“Shane.” Ilya pulled away slightly. “You shouldn’t be doing this.”
“I want to.” Shane desperately wanted to make Ilya feel better. He wanted to erase the shame he knew Ilya felt for needing help. To show him that it was okay not to be okay. That he was still deserving of love no matter what.

Summary
Ilya couldn't help but notice how alike David and his Shane were. People said that Shane looked just like his mom but Ilya could see Shane so clearly in David's face. In the gentle curve of his lips, the expressive eyes, the worried lilt to his voice.
And suddenly Ilya's eyes went blurry from tears. He missed Shane, so much. It had been two weeks since he had seen him, not for lack of trying. They were both just so exhausted with the playoffs and traveling so much that they could only manage video chats at night.
"Ilya, what's wrong, buddy?" David asked, eyebrows scrunching together in concern just like Shane.
Ilya cried harder at that, mumbling through his tears, "Miss my Shane."
or, a bad day pushes Ilya into his little headspace after a game in front of Yuna and David. As Shane rushes to him from Montreal, they take care of Ilya.
or, Ilya is the baby of the Hollander family and everyone adores him.
