Kaveh’s altruism provides a framework for how one should live at the cost of his own guilt. But his worldview is not static. When he is thrust into the same position as his late father, he is confronted with nihilism stemming from the cruel nature of humanity. Without denying the premise of meaninglessness, he can acknowledge this nature while preserving his ideals through conscious awareness and defiance. This conceptual leap unlocks the door for Kaveh to progress from altruism to humanism, enabling him to separate his guilt from his ideals, ultimately allowing him to answer the question Alhaitham once posed him: “How has realizing your ideals turned out for you?”

The poor, pure man gets flushed and nervous whenever sex is mentioned--what would reading such explicit scenes do to his innocent mind? He might have qi deviation, or worse, start avoiding Mobei Jun.
TL; DR: Shang Qinghua writes erotic friendfiction, Mobei Jun finds out.

So he goes away for a bit to clear his head. And promptly gets kidnapped.
