Summary
When Eddie left for Texas, he knew he’d be leaving so many things behind. His friends, his mentor, his house, and most importantly, the man he loved. But he needed to work to get his son back. And if that meant leaving his own world partly behind, then so be it.
He never expected to be left in the dark after he got into an argument with Buck. He regrets what he said to him, but by the time he finds the courage to apologize, it might be too late, and the last words Buck would ever hear from Eddie were ones he didn't mean.

His breath stutters, the tremble in his lip betraying the anger in his tone. It’s not just frustration—it’s panic, confusion, something breaking open.
“Eddie…” Buck’s voice is small, unsure. “What are you talking about?”
