Summary
One month following a failed suicide attempt, a 15-year old boy reluctantly returns to his life prior to his stay in the hospital. It feels like he’s been waiting for the subway to come pick him up for an unusually long time… But he doesn’t think much of it at the time. Once the carriages slow on the tracks and people file in, the boy steps onto carriage 3807 and settles in for his trip home.
In the next train car over, a regressor stares at nothing, awaiting the paid service to begin again. After having lived through this false crisis innumerable times already, he can estimate the exact moment that this world will be plunged into hell once more.
This will be the last time. He will be the most brutal and cruel version of himself, if that's what the story demands in order to end it.

"Did you know that tomorrow's full moon is a blood moon?" Goro says, apropos of nothing.
"Nope." Ren glances back up at the moon again. Its familiar cratered face gazes back at him patiently, but all of a sudden he feels like he's seeing it in all its loveliness for the first time. "...Are you looking at it right now?"
"Do you want me to be?" Goro shoots back, the playful dip of his voice sending Ren's stomach swooping. Do you want me to be? God, he's such an asshole.
Ren wishes Goro could hear him roll his eyes over the phone. "It's a yes or no question."
He hears rustling, and then footsteps. "Yes, I'm looking at it, too," Goro says softly.
