Summary
There is something to be said about Seattle in the summer. The weather is perfect, the water and the mountains look amazing every single day, it’s like the sun is out for a single hour and the entire city is affected by its energy.
Vince spends the first few weeks doing nothing but paddleboarding, going to farmers markets, and spending afternoons shopping, walking up and down back roads while dipping in and out of small shops.
He wishes he felt like a local, with his freshly caught fish and equally fresh vegetables residing in his canvas tote bag while he drives his EV back to his box house that overlooks the water, but he knows he’s not and never will be a local. He’s just a transplant, dropped into Seattle for his work, just like everyone else in this fucking town.

Summary
Nate’s phone wakes him up early. Too early. He groans and rolls over, wondering who the hell is calling at this hour. They can go fuck themselves, Nate thinks sleepily. Fuck anyone who disrupts his sleep in the middle of the season.
His hand finds his phone and pulls it towards his body. Nate is fully ready to decline the call and go back to sleep, maybe yell at them in a couple of hours when it’s a more reasonable time. And then he sees the name on his screen and he’s instantly awake.
DO NOT ANSWER
his phone tries to tell him. Well, really, past Nate tried to tell the version of him here, now. Tried, because Nate knows there’s not a chance in hell he declines this call.

Sid and Nate broke up back in 2022 and haven't spoken since... until Sid calls Nate early one morning in 2025 to let him know he's just been traded to the Avs.
Thankfully, Nate's got some of the best friends in the world to take care of him.
