Summary
Jemma thinks, distantly, of a time when they were seventeen and still at the start of the most important friendship she’s ever had or ever will have, and Fitz was telling her about torque. She doesn’t know why it came up, and she doesn’t know what the conversation led to. But she can remember sitting on Fitz’s bed and wearing Fitz’s hoodie and watching Fitz’s face light up as he rambled on about some basic principle of physics or another, listening to the thick ck sound at the end of torque and the way it fell off of his tongue, feeling his blankets underneath her bitten-down fingernails, thinking that maybe this was the sort of thing that was supposed to last forever. Maybe this moment was one that would never end. Maybe he’d spin his hands around, demonstrating orbital angular velocity, and he’d bring her with her, and they’d make their own impenetrable rotational field, or whatever it was that he was telling her about.
There’s something out there, probably, that has a stronger gravitational pull than the earth. Jemma thinks, now, that she could find it with him.

Summary
It's hard to refuse Daisy. Jemma addresses the hands she has folded neatly in her lap when she speaks. “Getting back to normal has been… a slower process than anticipated. There have been a few frustratingly uncontrollable roadblocks in my path. One such roadblock may or may not be my own subconscious.”
“So, nightmares,” Daisy translates, as if Jemma hasn’t caused a small tectonic shift by almost admitting that she needs help. Then again, tectonic shifts are an average Tuesday to Daisy. Perhaps it’s not so unreasonable to think that she might be more than okay at handling Jemma’s broken earth.
