    “No, you won’t,” Kate says, teetering somewhere between annoyance and smugness. “Besides, you’re wrong. He’s more like…” she trails off, biting her lip, before grinning, all teeth. “Like a guard dog.”

    “A guard dog,” Eli repeats incredulously, and Tommy laughs, spinning the gun in his hands.

    “Ha! Yeah, right.”

    It starts as a joke from Kate, because of course it does. How else would it have started?
    (aka, the Young Avengers have their guard dog. Tommy doesn't mind the name. It's what he does, after all.)
