    He grunts, turning to eye Tech with both annoyance and disinterest, biting his tongue so he doesn’t snap at him. “M’fine.”

    Tech crosses his arms, unimpressed. “Clearly. You have obviously not been brooding for days on end. I must have seen incorrectly.”

    Hunter feels a flush crawl into his cheeks as he looks away, staring at the grass. It’s oddly blueish and it looks… crinkly. It’s disconcerting. “Go do your repairs, Tech.”

    Crosshair broke them when he left, and his loss is one from which Hunter cannot move on. He doesn’t know how to not live in constant fear that one day, one of his other brothers will also leave him. Crosshair did. Why not Tech or Wrecker, too? Crosshair chose the Empire. Why would Tech not choose Phee over him when she has so much to offer that he doesn’t?
