Summary
1982, Stanley es absorbido por el portal, pero en lugar de viajar a la dimensión de pesadillas y vagar por el multiverso, es teletransportado 30 años en el futuro, a un Gravity Falls en proceso de reconstrucción después del casi fin del mundo. En consecuencia, el gruñón tío Stan del 2012 fue teletransportado 30 años al pasado, al evento más traumatico de su vida y del cual aún no recuerda en su totalidad porque aún no ha recuperado todos sus recuerdos.
Los dos Ford tendrán que ayudar a sus hermanos de otro tiempo a regresar a sus respectivas líneas del tiempo mientras lidean con los problemas personales de su gemelo. Ford de 2012 tendrá que enfrentarse a la culpa por sus errores del pasado que provocaron la dura vida que Stan tuvo que sobrellevar, mientras que el Ford de 1982 aprenderá que sus acciones pueden provocar consecuencias catastróficas en el futuro. -

[EDIT JUNE 2026] I abandoned this fic years ago with the death of my gravity falls hyperfixation. It ended at a really fucked up and dark part. It was originally gonna have a cathartic and hopeful ending and it might still if I ever pick it up again (although I do much longer chapters now, so the pacing might be wonky if I did that). When I first posted this fic, I was vague and cryptic about what it was because I wanted to catch people off guard, but I see no point in hiding it now. This is a Stan kills Ford fic :o). Yeah! You know all those fics where Ford accidentally kills Stan in the 80's? This is a fic where the other way around happens!!! So feel free to read if you're interested in that. And then proceed to get mad at me for leaving off where I did. I love y'all! Unrelated but I'm in the Detective Beebo fandom now, you should play it as it's very good

Summary
In retrospect, Ford should've known better than to touch an obscure futuristic artifact. On the other hand, he wouldn't have been himself if that impulse hadn't arisen.
He didn't have his journal anymore, so he could only make a mental note that one shouldn't use the device too frequently unless they want to be thrown back a decade in time. Because, as Ford realized when he woke up in his childhood room, that is exactly what would happen.
Ford had spent several years in Gravity Falls before an accident with some time traveling device happened. He woke up before the science fair and got an opportunity to prevent his project from being sabotaged and–less desirably–to see things from Stanley's perspective.

Stanley was supposed to be back by now. Ford had waited from dawn to hear from him, and nothing. Now it's noon, and he's tired of waiting. He's gonna go find his brother- no matter what. And if that means running away from home? So be it.
