Summary
So much for an interesting interaction. At least he'll get to settle the itching sensation wracking his body by searching for the next unfortunate soul. Jabber's hand stays still as the soul's hand inches forward until their fingertips meet. When this soul passes on, Jabber will be alone, as usual, to report back to his boss on yet another job well-done. Another grin slithers onto Jabber's face; he certainly can't forget about the reporting stage of his job. The thought protrudes his mind and nulls that itching boredom scaling his body. Jabber just has to wait for the soul to disappear as he was meant to and he can finally get that reward from the boss.
Jabber is surprised, though, when such a scenario does not occur.
As a servant of Death, Jabber likes to wander around these stoic, empty landscapes with a skip in his step, aiming to effortlessly carry out his day-to-day job of reaping souls—if days even exist here.
Except eventually, stuck in the bottom of some well, Jabber finds a soul he cannot kill.

Of course it has to be him.
Knowing the identity of the perpetrator is even worse than the fact that the guy actually persisted through the silence to try and talk to him. How's the bastard so sure he's even here instead of his parents' house anyway?
"I saw you walking back here and thought you were struggling, so…I wanted to check on you."

Ori turns up sick and gets two things out of it: some (unfortunate) company and a cheap set of muffins.

"I want you as my muse, duh," Jabber replies, breath mimicking that split between a tender whisper and an eager declaration. "You'd look real pretty in the moonlight, out on that field."
Another step. A pile of boxes stop Zanka from withdrawing further, but even still, Zanka has yet to be cornered. And even as hands slowly rest on the edges of the boxes to cage him in, he does not break eye contact.
"'S why I still like this place," Jabber's admission is so soft-spoken, almost like it should be taboo. "There's no ceiling here, y'know?"
Under the secrecy of night, Zanka's practice gets interrupted by an unexpected visitor. He at least gets a photo and a few kisses out of it.

Summary
Toya has been fine like this. He was never meant to stray from his predetermined fate; yet as he wanders to a street he should have never crossed paths with, singing so synchronically with someone he should have never met and using the warmth of it all to temporarily drown out the agonizing cold of his home, he knows this wasn't the wrong choice. Toya will be fine like this.
That is, until his home gets infested with termites.
It's a struggle to get rid of them—if he even can.

Zanka’s thumb twitches against skin, threatening to dig his nails further. Jabber only leans into the touch, stopping just before any blood is drawn. “I’ll fight ya back, ‘course, but like this…we’re in it to die for reals this time.”
Jabber, with a care Zanka didn’t even think he possessed, slowly grabs one of Zanka’s hands off his throat with a grin that knows he can’t fight this, bringing Zanka’s fingers up to the bracelet on his other hand.
“You can call ‘em, y’know, if you want.”
Zanka runs into a certain raider while separated on a mission. Nothing goes according to plan—but Zanka won't falter.

He took the bento box right from Yosuke's hands and opened it for him, a proud yet small smile slid his way on his lips as he did so.
The lid revealed a completely different lunch. It didn't look like leftovers – not that the other's did, because Yu's cooking was always that good — but something made separately.
"Partner, you–"
"I know you hate tofu, so I figured I'd change the recipe for you."
Yosuke gapes.
"Change the recipe… Yu, this is a different dish."

His thoughts began to run wild. Of course, it was his rotten luck to get stuck with a stupid new ailment that they knew nothing about. It was bad enough that he couldn’t keep his mouth shut on a normal day, and now this dumb fairy tale curse was going to come along and spill all his secrets to anyone who happened to be nearby.
“We’re not going to let that happen, Yosuke,” Yu said, placing his hand gently on Yosuke’s shoulder. “We will figure it out; we always do.”
Yosuke’s eyes widened. Goddamnit, he said all of that out loud? This was the actual worst.
Or
Yosuke gets hit with a status ailment that compels him to tell the truth, and the consequences of that.

Summary
Yu knows that if he burns this letter, he’d be breaking all of his morals. He’d be destroying his friends’ trust and all of the memories they made while trying to bring the real killer to justice. He thinks deeply about them one last time, feeling his eyes starting to burn. He clenches the lighter in his hand tightly and grabs the letter from the table.
Yu inhales and lets the flame touch the paper.
____After Yu burns the letter in hopes that Adachi will become a better person if the murders are covered up, the man confesses his crimes. He also mentions his accomplice, the one that destroyed the evidence along with the trust of his friends for a man that is far from salvation.
Stuck on probation for a whole year in a town where everyone despises him, Yu has to convince his former friends to continue towards the truth, even if it means losing their bonds forever.Bookmarked by superst4rsaga

"Warmth was the best way to describe it. Yu had made him feel like sunshine simply by reflecting his light back to him. Just like how the sun and moon converge, Yosuke was caught in a total solar eclipse with Yu, creating a ring of warmth that radiated to his very bone.
Yosuke decides, right there, that Yu was his moon."
