Summary
Vash has a soulmark that changes every few decades, shifting like smoke to a new form. It is nothing as simple as a name (like a human would have), and maybe it’s a blessing he never meets them. It settles into different silhouettes—wolf, raven, eagle—but it never burns to signal he has actually met the person. Until it does. And then he really, really wishes it never had.
Wolfwood knows from the moment the name appears on his wrist that he’s fucked, because he has heard of the notorious outlaw (who hasn’t?), and on this entire planet, there is probably only one Vash. Then he gets the assignment to look after him, and he knows he is really, really fucked.
